Nothing a slice of chocolate cake can’t fix.
A chocolate cake that rivals Miss Trunchbull’s chocolate cake.
A good slice of chocolate cake is a year round gift to yourself.
It doesn’t matter the season and there’s no need to have a special celebration in order to indulge. Why wait? There are some days that call for a rich and moody, deeply fudgy chocolate cake. Today is one of those days.
Growing up chocolate cakes were my absolute favorite, every birthday had to have a Costco chocolate sheet cake with the colorful balloons in one corner and the rich buttercream frosting. I still crave this cake every so often but since I started baking my own, I finally found the chocolate cake base that is the perfect chameleon.
I’ve used this base to make a raspberry chocolate ganache cake, a Ferrero Rocher cake, and today’s brownie fudge cake. It’s rich and decadent and makes for any easy bake. I think next I’ll try a peanut butter banana filling, waiting on the next day I need a break in case of emergency chocolate cake!
